12th May, Hualien, Taiwan
We took a cathay airline which stopped over at hong kong airport. Thats the day the China Earthquake occurred. We only knew about it through news on that night.

Taipei was quite cold when we reached. Took the national rail to 花涟, the east of Taiwan.

A policeman talked to us on the train. He was being very nice but as Singaporeans we were a bit suspicious at first when he talked to us. He even produced his police ID to show that he's a real police haha. He was really enthu in telling us all the attractions in hualien. =)
We booked a house-turned-motel owned by a 杨 family. The owners are an old couple who call themselves 杨爸 and 杨妈. They are really nice people. 杨爸 brought us to the night market, but in the end we didnt buy anything from the night market.

The house-turned-motel is a very nice house! Cosy and cheap!

13th May, Day 2, Hualien, Taipei
We headed to Taroko (太鲁阁) on the next day. 杨爸 drove us to there at a cheaper fee than the tour buses.

This is 杨爸 haha.

A lake in Hualien.
A beach in Hualien aka 七星谭. Its the Pacific Ocean!! We were so scared of any possible tsunami. It supposedly has a very good view of sunrise but we missed it
The 杨 family and his grandson. He's a grandfather to us haha.
14th May, Day 3, Taipei
Took a train to Taipei.
中正纪念堂.
国父纪念馆。
Suddenly, these guards started marching out of nowhere.
We walked from 国父纪念馆 to taipei 101. Went up to the observatory of the current tallest building in the world for the view of sunset.
I dont think the top view is very nice, so peeps dont bother to go up to Taipei 101.
That night we managed to find the ModernToilet Restaurant. WAHAHAHAHAH. WE thought it would be disgusting, but it turned to be very cosy!! The owner identified us as Singaporeans and said the restaurant is extremely popular among Singaporeans. Hm
...

After which its ximending.

As both of us didnt quite like ximending, we went to 士林夜市 instead.

15th &16th May, Day 4-5, Taipei
We didnt do much but shopping. 五分埔 doesnt allow us to try wearing those clothes =(
17th May, Day 6, Taipei
They are famous for selling long ice cream cone.
19th MAy, Day 7, Taipei
We went to Yeliu. What a hot day and luckily i didn't get sunburnt. Ok im now lazy to write much about it. Picture speaks a thousand words.
We did our last shopping at Taipei Main Station. Drank my last cup of bubble tea and headed back hotel for a gd rest but ended up watching tv till 3am in the hotel room. -_-
20th May, Day 8, Hong kong
Took a flight to HK, but it was raining the moment we touched down. ARGH!!!! It just dampened every shopping mood we had.
The first day we went to tung chung, a place which supposedly is the factory outlet. Yah i agree its cheaper than normal price but the clothes are still very expensive. Didnt buy anything on that day. =( It continued to rain and we only shopped at the temple street.
21st May, Day 9, Hong Kong
It continued to rain like nobody's business. We went to the peak and Madame Tussaud, the wax musuem. We walked and walked from Central MTR station to the foot of the peak!! Argh and it was raining!! $$%^%^%$$%%# WE didnt have any contingent plan for rainy days because I didn't expect it to rain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CAn you believe that this is the tram to the Victoria Peak? I think it looks more like a tram to the peak of india.
The wax musuem in hk is quite similar to London's. Of course London has more figures but the hk ones are more of the Asian stars. But i find it puzzling. They have 'twins' but they dont have jet li, tony leung and etc.
Andy lau's wax figure looks real!
甜蜜蜜. MUAHAHAHAHA.
This 10 dollars note looks fake at many glances, but its a real one. Why so colourful?
Ok as u all can see.. im too lazy to blog about the small details of our trip. All i can say is that we enjoyed ourselves a lot, especially those nights when we bought back all those snacks and bubble back hotel and watch tv HAHAHAHAHA.
I went to Hong Kong in 2005 to mark the start of uni life. I went to Hong Kong again in May 2008 to mark the end of my uni life. Cool~ Does that mean I will go to HK again next time when i retire to mark the end of my career life?
